Description
The Southwest Florida APWA Branch encompasses Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades counties and was formed in 1985. The SWFL APWA Branch continues to support the local community by participating in the Adopt A Road program in Fort Myers, and collecting toys during the Holiday season for the Toys for Tots program. Monthly breakfast meetings are held for members and guests with various speaker presentations. An annual fundraiser event is performed each year to raise money for scholarships to students and professionals that are studying in the public works field. Each year the fundraiser generates approximately $5,000 in scholarships for local students.
